Ah Christmas, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. You get to hike out in the bush and chop down a Christmas tree (a.k.a drive to the nearest Canadian Tire), families get together, Tim Hortons has their peppermint white hot chocolate out, and of course, Michael Bublé’s Christmas album on repeat. Wow, that was a very Canadian sentence. Sorry.
In honour of this glorious holiday, myself and my roommate travelled down to the Toronto Distillery Christmas Market to get us in the Merry mood and try some delicious treats. And must I say, the market did not disappoint.
If you have never heard or been to the Toronto Christmas market, it is the ULTIMATE holiday shopping wonderland — you will even find a gift for your hardest relative there.
The market it filled with cobblestone streets, stringed lights overhead, restaurants and cute shops. They have every kind of shop from maple syrup and fudge, to funky socks and onesies.
While shopping around in stores, be sure to grab a cup of mulled wine to keep warm — I promise you won’t be disappointed. It consists of red wine along with various mulling spices — the perfect holiday drink for all those wine lovers.
When you shop till you drop, check out El Catrin for a nice dinner. I recommend the quesadillas and guacamole — they make the guacamole right in front of you!
This has got to me the most beautiful restaurant I have ever entered. The restaurant is located outside, open all seasons of the year.
So you don’t get cold on those Canadian winter nights, they give you a nice blanket to curl up with while eating your delicious food — perfect for an Instagram photo
If you guys end up visiting or have visited the market, let me know your favourite part!
Just remember guys, he’s gunna find out who’s naughty or nice, so be good for goodness sake.
